Personal, interdisciplinary, practical and enterprising, these are the core values of NHL. With these values we want our ambitions for the coming years to come true. Ambitions, which relate to improving the quality of teaching and research offerings, increased academic achievement and strengthening the market position.
Power is needed everywhere and fossil fuels like oil and gas are declining. They are also more expensive. Wind energy is one of the cleanest and most promising alternatives to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. The world of wind energy is changing rapidly. More and more windmills in the Netherlands, on land and offshore at sea. To guide these changes in the right direction, mechanical engineers are needed with knowledge on wind energy. This is why NHL offers the specialization Offshore Wind.
From the first year of your studies, you deal with questions like: how do you design offshore wind turbines that need a minimum of maintenance? What is the safest and cheapest way to maintain windmills? Students will often cooperate with companies during their study. A challenge that you’re posting in the unique specialization Offshore Wind, the first at university level in the Netherlands!
